  • Steven M. Jordan

    Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Jordan founded Jordan Oil Company in 1980. Throughout the decades, he has maintained the belief that success is ultimately based on the core values of integrity, innovation and a strong work ethic. Through his leadership and the employment of industry leading geophysical, geological, engineering support staff, the company has successfully drilled or operated over 200 wells in Southwest Louisiana and developed a core competency that is confirmed by an unmatched drilling success rate in the region. In addition to his responsibilities at Jordan Oil, Mr. Jordan also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Central Crude, Inc., the largest privately owned crude oil purchaser in Louisiana, and Louisiana Tank, Inc., the largest commercial liquid waste disposal company in Louisiana.

    Mr. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) and as President of the Vacuum Truck Carriers of Louisiana. Additionally, he sits on the Executive Board of Directors of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI) and on the Governor of Louisiana’s Military Advisory Board.

  • Thomas E. Schmidt

    President

    Mr. Schmidt joined Jordan Oil Company in 2009. Prior to joining Jordan Oil, Mr. Schmidt was employed by Swift Energy Company for 22 years where he held a variety of positions including Vice President of Operating Compliance & External Relations and Vice President of Exploration & Production. He has 39 years of total experience in the energy industry and has held various technical and managerial positions with several other public energy companies, including Shell Oil Company, Houston Oil & Minerals and Damson Oil Company.

    Mr. Schmidt holds a Master of Science degree in Geological Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering, both from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
     

  • Thomas E. Grace

    Exploration Manager

    Mr. Grace joined Jordan Oil Company in 2006. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Thomas Grace has 27 years of experience as a professional geologist/geophysicist, working primarily in the southwest Louisiana and Gulf Coast regions. His responsibilities include identifying and evaluating exploration opportunities, as well as directing the company’s exploration and development activities. Mr. Grace also provides technical expertise, assistance and operational oversight in the area of geological and geophysical operations. Due to his vast experience in the Louisiana oil and gas industry, Mr. Grace has a deep understanding of the subtleties and intricacies of the terrain as well as the concepts, practices and procedures that are used in the field on a day-to-day basis. Prior to joining Jordan Oil, Mr. Grace worked for Union Oil Company of California and Louisiana Land and Exploration Company (LL&E).

    Mr. Grace holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

  • Phillip A. Gayle, Jr.

    Land Manager

    Mr. Gayle joined Jordan Oil Company in 2009. His responsibilities include the management of all land functions in support of the drilling program. He is primarily responsible for negotiating, analyzing and drafting all land related contracts, including farmouts, participation agreements, exploration joint venture agreements and joint operating agreements. He also oversees the acquisition of leases, rights-of-way and surface damage settlements and coordinates communication between land owners and field personnel in order to avoid, address and resolve any issues related to ongoing drilling and daily production activities. Prior to joining Jordan Oil, Mr. Gayle worked as an independent petroleum landman for El Paso E&P Company, Chesapeake Energy Corporation and several other small independent E&P companies.

    Mr. Gayle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the Houston Producer’s Forum, the American Association of Professional Landmen and Young Professionals in Energy.
